What will be the use of Rail One app launched by the Railway Minister of India? What are its features

Hello, We are All Vision India, Hope you are well

The RailOne app, launched by the Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on July 2, 2025, is a comprehensive "super app" developed by the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS). Its primary use is to consolidate various public-facing services of Indian Railways into a single, user-friendly platform, simplifying the travel experience for passengers.

Key Features of the RailOne App:

  • Unified Services: The app integrates functionalities from multiple existing railway applications, such as IRCTC Rail Connect, UTSonMobile, NTES, Rail Madad, and Food on Track, eliminating the need for users to switch between different apps.

  • Ticket Booking: Users can effortlessly plan journeys, search for trains, and book both reserved and unreserved tickets, including platform tickets. A 3% discount is available for unreserved tickets booked via the integrated R-Wallet.

  • Real-time Train Tracking: It provides live updates on train locations, platform numbers, expected arrival times, and delays.

  • Coach Position Finder: This feature helps passengers easily locate their coach on the platform.

  • PNR Status and Journey Planning: Users can check their PNR status and plan their journeys conveniently.

  • Food Ordering: Passengers can order food from partner vendors directly through the app while on board.

  • Rail Madad: The app includes the Rail Madad feature for raising and tracking complaints or feedback with Indian Railways, and also simplifies the process for refund requests.

  • R-Wallet Integration: An in-house digital wallet, R-Wallet, is integrated for secure and convenient payments.

  • Single Sign-On (SSO) and Security: It offers a seamless single sign-on system, allowing users to log in with existing IRCTC, RailConnect, or UTSonMobile credentials. It also supports biometric login and numeric mPIN for enhanced security.

  • Multilingual Support: The app is available in multiple languages to cater to India's diverse population.

  • Additional Services: The app also offers features for porter booking and last-mile taxi options. Freight service enquiries are also available.

  • Accessibility: It is designed with a simplified user interface and includes special provisions for Divyangjan (persons with disabilities), students, and patients.
